I avoid attempting to tan, but to this day, I don’t walk around covered with sunscreen . ….. The earliest explicit suggestion that I could find about sunscreen possibly lowering skin cancer incidence came in 1977. The most relevant article I found was a discussion entitled “Are we overemphasizing sun avoidance in protection from melanoma?” from 2008. …
